Tiger safari or tiger tours in India usually are of two weeks and the iterinary includes both places to see like Delhi and a tiger destination like Kanha Tiger Reserve in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. This is because the landing point in India is usually Delhi for in bound tourists. Delhi offer great historical monuments to see.
There is a direct flight from here to Jabalpur and Kanha is approx 165 km away by road. The iterinary may include Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve as well since both tiger reaserves offer the best chance to see the tiger. In fact none can beat them in terms of tiger sightings. A three to four night stay in Jungle will offer a chance to see a tiger. Very very few go disappointed.
Other animals like Sambhar (cervus unicolor) Spotted Deer (axis axis) Hard Ground Barasingha (cervus duavcelli branderi) are a treat to watch. The latter being present only at Kanha.
Both the national parks offer very good bird watching and hence are good birding destinations.
I have conducted many nature tour for bird watching and tiger watching at both these places with a very high degree of success.
